黎灼灼原名黎杏球，1905年生于香港，家境优渥，受过良好教育，英语流利，擅长音乐、绘画及舞蹈。

她是黎民伟的侄女，黎宣的堂姐，黎姿的堂姑母。

Born Li Xingqiu in Hong Kong in 1905, Lai Chuochao came from a wealthy family, was well educated, fluent in English, and excelled in music, painting and dancing.

She is Li Minwei's niece, Li Xuan's cousin and Li Zi's aunt.

1932年，黎灼灼从天津到上海找她的叔叔黎民伟，导演卜万苍认为她适合扮演《人道》中一个反面角色，从此进入电影界。

在田汉编剧的《三个摩登女性》中，黎灼灼与阮玲玉、陈燕燕分别饰演三个不同类型的女性，黎灼灼饰演的虞玉，贪图物欲享受，追求资产阶级腐朽生活。一炮而红后，她出演了大量有魅力的“坏女人”形象。

In 1932, Li Chuozhuo went from Tianjin to Shanghai to meet her uncle Li Minwei, and director Bu Wancang thought she would be suitable for a villain role in Humanity, from which she entered the film industry.

In "Three Modern Women," written by Tian Han, Li Zhuzhu, ruan Lingyu and Chen Yanyan play yu Yu, three different types of women. Li zhuzhu plays Yu Yu, who is greedy for material things and pursues bourgeois decadence. After her immediate success, she starred in a number of attractive "bad woman" roles.

1937年上海沦陷，黎灼灼和男友硬派小生张翼又到香港发展，出演了《大地晨钟》等影片。而张翼却水土不服，决定离开她回上海参与“孤岛电影”。

In 1937, When Shanghai fell to the enemy, Li Zhuozhuo and her boyfriend zhang Yi went to Hong Kong and starred in films such as The Great Earth Morning Bell. Zhang Yi, however, decided to leave her back to Shanghai to participate in the "island film".

后来，黎灼灼选择嫁给了圈外人陈振东。丈夫去世后，她进入养老院生活。

1990年5月15日，黎灼灼因心脏病于香港逝世，享年85岁。

Later, Li Zhuochao chose to marry Chen Zhendong, an outsider. After her husband died, she went into a nursing home.

On May 15, 1990, Lai Chuochao died of heart disease in Hong Kong at the age of 85.
