Currently the person with the longest hair in China: Xie Qiuping

    谢秋萍，1969年出生在山清水秀的广西桂林荔浦县城。跟别人不同的是，她的头发“长得比韭菜还快”。小学毕业时，辫子已拖到脚后跟了。

    1993年底，上海电视台、上海市公证处、上海市计量局等单位正在筹办世界长发大赛。组委会听说广西有一位长发女，便邀请谢秋萍去上海参赛。谢秋萍推脱不过，便请假去了。在1994年1月的大赛上，谢秋萍的头发竟长3.869米，不仅打破了同台竞赛的中华第一长发女王丽娟3.05米的纪录，也打破了世界第一长发女美国珍妮保持的3.60米世界吉尼斯长发纪录。当时，定居上海的我国百岁画坛大师刘海粟称奇不已，兴奋地挥毫为谢秋萍书写了“长发”二字。

        Xie Qiuping was born in lipu county, Guilin, Guangxi in 1969. Unlike others, her hair "grows faster than leeks." By the time I graduated from primary school, my pigtails had reached my heels.

     At the end of 1993, Shanghai TV station, Shanghai Notary Office, Shanghai Bureau of Metrology and other units are organizing the World Long Hair Competition. The organizing committee heard that there was a woman with long hair in Guangxi and invited Xie Qiuping to Shanghai to compete. Xie Qiuping, however, asked for leave. On the competition in January 1994, Xie Qiuping's hair grows unexpectedly 3.869 meters, not only broke the record of 3.05 meters of the first long hair queen Li Juan of the same stage competition, but also broke the record of 3.60 meters of the world guinness long hair maintained by the first long hair female Jenny of the United States. At that time, Liu Haisu, a 100-year-old Chinese painting master who lived in Shanghai, was so amazed that he wrote xie Qiuping "Long hair" with great excitement.
