“虎”在中国文化中有着特殊的象征意义：威猛的力量，昂扬的活力，无限的的潜能，王者的风范与荣耀！
虎的形象与精神象征，在人类文明中，在全世界各个民族各个国家地区中，都有着重要的意义和特殊的地位。
2022的世界，以“虎”的精神，振奋人心，抗御疫情和生活带来的躺平和麻痹，尤为必要！人类现在需要有虎的精气神，需要有百兽之王的勇气霸气，来提振每个人的人心！
虎年新春，从生命艺术的视角，以艺术的各种创作形式来表达：绘画、雕塑、行为、摄影、诗歌、装置、视频、观念等等，以任何不拘一格的艺术形式，以贺虎年，激励全球！
展览在2022年春节除夕00:00正式在线开幕，首期展览至正月十五。之后，至2023年春节除夕00:00闭幕。参展作品将在今日头条艺术要闻线上自媒体展出。新浪、搜狐、凤凰等主流媒体报道展出！同时，每一位受邀艺术家也将在自己的个人线上美术馆（微信朋友圈、微博等）中，发布自己的作品及相关展览内容。

The Spring Festival of the Year of the Tiger 2022 is here!
"Tiger" has a special symbolic meaning in Chinese culture: fierce power, high vitality, unlimited potential, the style and glory of the king!

夜读：“人类已经到了一个新的节点。我们每天都在追求更高质量的生活，要知道人类的生活质量每提高一分，对大自然的伤害的力度就对多一分。我们的生活水平越高，对大自然破坏就越大。而且我们的欲望一直在膨胀中，在能力范围之内，我们总想拥有一切物质性的财富。可我们是否想过，这些高水平的物质生活背后，有多少是我们真正所需要的？又有多少仅仅是为了满足我们的优越感和虚荣感的？要知道人类每一件产品的诞生，最终的结果都是一连串的碳排放。从生产供电的企业，到生产产品包装的企业，还有为此奔波的物流卡车和快递三轮车……人类的欲望是无穷无尽的，攀比、贪婪、奢侈是人性无法攻克的弱点。大自然恶化、资源的枯竭，日益困扰我们。有人说：虽然人类破坏自然的速度在加快，但同时人类治理环境的技术也在进步，为什么还是有自然灾害呢？因为治理环境的收益远远小于破坏自然的收益，而人类都是短视的，所以破坏环境很难一时刹得住。欲望就像潘多拉的魔盒，一旦打开，就很难合上。而且一边治理一边破坏，这不是左右互博吗？”

作者的话：
农历正月写了这个虎字，今年我本命年，正好一甲子，时光流转2022年初深刻难忘，所以要寫虎字紀念。
在经历疫情、锁链女、战争，壬寅虎年初便是惊心动魄。
我以隶書用缓慢行筆，突出它在结构上的雄沉意象，这个虎字写在牛皮纸上，借肋夕阳的光让它呈现出时间的感覺。
从新冠疫情开始到现在，經歷了三个不容易而深刻的春天。纽约的春天很美，街道亮麗空气湿润，綠色的雨中更顯花草迷人。
自新冠疫情以來更多不好的消息令人压抑不暢，紐約這亇世界的藝術舞臺停止了，紐約雨中的櫻花默默地在春寒意冷中綻放，玉蘭被燦爛的晚霞擁抱在無人的街道。
今年春节的时候震惊世界的锁链女事件，一系列的睹心事儿隨著战争，入侵乌克兰，都在加俱人的情緒與思考。
文字的信息指向精神，汉字對於我來講它每亇字都是古老文明的DAN圖騰。
我把影像與文字结合在一起，窗與影呈现隔绝、距离的感觉，甚至有一种焦虑。我相信这个为虎年的作品，它是對坚忍和對未来充滿希望的表達。我认为好的作品是可以对人的精神起到一种積極的作用並能撫慰心靈！
作者的话：
虎兜是我的一件藏品，九二年得自西安，它是一件非常有意思的絲綢绣品，这件制作精美、色彩動人的手工兒童肚兜，對於我來講它就是一件裝置作品。
虎兜的符號意象是中華文化的DAN，丝绸的手工繡花圖案與生肖虎構成令人愉悅的視覺，民俗氣息無比傳神地在時間中突顯熱烈。它带有典型的北方文化特點，鮮艷的繡品象征着喜慶美好，是吉祥平安與祝福之意。
十二生肖是中華文化的象征，老虎在民間文化上有一种保平安的象徵。

Creative Intent：The process of your experiment
My first thought when I pictured tiger, was how their markings help them camouflage when hunting their prey in the jungle. As I started work on an abstract jungle my Tiger would be hiding in, lines from one of my favorite English Artists and Poets, William Blake, popped into my head.
“Tiger, Tiger burning bright
In the forest of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?”
I decided to use dried plant materials I had gathered to make forest-like mono prints. Six mono prints later, I finally felt I was able to express the combination of my idea of camouflage with Blake’s poem. The tan and black and white stripes represent the Tiger and the horizontal, back and forth stripes on the bottom of the page represent his movement and speed. The light green linear patches on the bottom undulate like flames while becoming a part of the forest. A fanlike plant became the hand that exposes all.
I feel honored to have been invited to submit a piece of artwork for your show.

当我与Andrea Gollub提到这个“虎”艺术展览时，Andrea告诉我，她第一感觉就是，虎那么美丽、英勇，只可惜虎赖以生存的森林，越来越少了。作为艺术治疗师，Andrea同时也是一位艺术家。她用了板印技术，将她对虎的生存状态及对虎生存环境的影像，及期望，用6次板印的方式呈现出来。

“一分钟创造艺术”这个相当于瞬间的创意灵感的捕捉及呈现过程，内涵竟然如此丰富。人类的思维到底能有多快？到底能承载多少文化的内涵？答案应该是“无止境”的。而艺术这种载体，也是使人类思维世界，达到最为真实、最多维、最自由的境界的绝好方法！

When I mentioned this "Tiger" art exhibition with Andrea Gollub, Andrea told me that her first impression was that tigers are so beautiful and heroic, but unfortunately there are fewer and fewer forests for tigers to survive. As an art therapist, Andrea is also an artist. She used acrylic paints, Gelli Mono-print technology to present her images and expectations of the tiger's living condition and living environment in 6 times of stencil printing.
When I saw her description of the creative process, there was actually a poem, and for a while, I was very moved.

Tiger feelings are about channeling fierceness and commanding presence, and I took this quite literally to show the Tiger in a portrait. These remarkable animals are naturally empowering and when the colors of orange, green and black come together they are even more powerful. This ink on paper is a one-minute quick study that came to me as I sat with the energy of the new year and how this animal symbolizes strength and wisdom. These energies are in focus for me in my life at this time and in making this image I felt the connectivity to a new and steadfast approach to all that is upon us globally. I felt a reassurance in this New Year as the tiger guides us in this time of renewal and transformation.

Jane Mossa Jane Mossa's tiger portrait, is an ink painting. Jane Mossa is a student of Jane Richardson, associate professor of art therapy at Leslie University. I found an interesting phenomenon: there is an obvious difference between her work and her teacher's work, figurative and abstract, and her teacher's work Snow Tiger even has “no figuration”.
A work of art that we ordinary people understand, although Realism depicts the real world more than Naturalism, Realism has been separated from Realism's depiction of the real world. But this shift can already see changes at the level of human consciousness. People are no longer satisfied with depicting what they see in the real world. 我愿意用“Fae”这个词来描述，这是一种与真正古老的民间传说相关的神话物种。 通常是欧洲人。 但是许多文化描述了他们自己的仙女类型。

Crystal Graham Crystal Graham, is a very unique one of the artists I invited this time. At first glance at her art, I couldn't believe that a tiger could have such a fairy-like state. A girl swinging leisurely on a swing, with long hair fluttering, her head looks like butterfly wings on both sides, inlaid with two tiger eyes, and the patterns on her wings also show tiger stripes.
Tiger, as a part of Chinese culture, how many people recognize it in the wider world? Tiger is the Chinese zodiac sign. Ferocious, powerful, wind-like speed? Tiger, this animal, is found in many other regions besides its uniqueness in our Chinese zodiac. And this combination of tiger and beautiful fairy, using this surreal style to describe the feelings in the artist's heart, is the embodiment of the diversified world.

Fairies or the Fae are an important part of Western mythology. They have immense magical powers and can leave blessings or destroy on a whim. They move fast and usually are found in forests.
Making a tiger-fairy takes the mythological animal of the Chinese New Year and transforms it into an image from western culture that has many of the same attributes that symbolize the tiger in Chinese culture. It is the coming together of two cultural beliefs. In this time of so much tension, it would be beautiful if Asian and Western culture could come together and creat a new form of bein！

Thank you for this welcome invitation to celebrate the Year of the Tiger together through art. Here where I live, on the East Coast of the US, we have huge drifts of snow on the ground. Imagining the tiger moving through the snow serves as an inspiration for the year to come.
Process of Creative:
Here is the tiger that appeared in my imagination:
A young tiger walked carefully through freshly fallen snow. This cold that shifted beneath her warm feet was a sensation that she had never experienced before. She felt warm sun on her back, and the tingle of melting snow between her toes. All of her senses were awakened as she moved into the bright new year, feeling braver at every step. Someday, she imagined, she would bring her own young tiger to explore the path she had created through the snow.

初见雪虎，我的意识被“精神分裂”了，虎在哪里？
旋即，我的眼泪流了下来。这不是就是虎存在的真正状态吗？一帧艺术作品，一只被解构的虎，就这样出现在我的心田。让我回到生命的原型。

When I first saw Snow Tiger, my consciousness was "schizophrenic", where is the tiger? Immediately, my tears flowed down. Isn't this the true state of tiger existence? A frame of art, a deconstructed tiger, just appeared in my heart. Drive me go back to the archetype of life. In reality, the tiger is endangered, and it is getting farther and farther away from us. If the tiger symbolizes courage, calmness, beauty, independence, and strong maternal love. Doesn't this work show these spirits symbolized by the tiger? 我是一位习惯于用篆刻来创造的艺术家。正值中国虎年，把刻好的《老聃》电子图片（设计）做成/传统手工与现代科技的重叠合成镜像，虎相山形。
老子作为中国先哲，在中国文化中具有极高的声誉。老子被孔子喻为神龙，所以，我将“老聃”两字的一部分，设计成“竖大拇指”的样式，置于两侧，使其看起来像飞龙。又，中国民间，有一种俗语为“老子”自称，意为“我”、“本人”、“老爹--寓意为权威”。 “老子天下第一”虽有傲慢意，但更多的是带有傲娇、自夸的喜剧意味。
我的作品中，既希望展现出“老聃”的王者风范，也希望展现出现实社会中的某种妄自尊大的现象。暂且算作新年幽默一下吧？

杨世膺，是我神交已久的朋友，同是做气功养生研究的他，曾经从篆刻艺术走向养生，又从养生回到篆刻艺术。初看《山君-老子天下第一ShanJun – Laozi is No. 1 in the world》，似猛虎下山，中正威严、不可侵犯。但同时我会感觉到一种颤抖，扎心的那种。好像这些线条都非常不实在，随时会零落而去。正巧我在做虎文化艺术展览的美国策划人，这个作品展现出来的矛盾性，一下子吸引了我。
篆刻，众人所知的无外乎方寸之间的印章，但实际上雕玉、刻石、镂竹、铭铜等刻制内容都包含在内。但杨世膺回归艺术后，还是选择了印章，却非方寸之间。 他的印刻有时大如磐石。我认为正因为他对气功养生研究的特殊经历，使其篆刻与众不同，气韵中晟。中国文人画讲究石、书、画、诗的交汇相融，而他干脆把这些元素全部打碎，解构、再重组，将他对传统文化的理解，及现实社会的理解，展现在印刻之中。不失为一个合格的，具有对现实有修复作用的“后后现代”艺术作品。
这张《山君-老子天下第一ShanJun – Laozi is No. 1 in the world》杨世膺选择了，将传说中的老子头像作为基础。使用汉字“老聃”（老子的字为聃）为基础，整个作品呈现出后人对老子这位古代先哲描绘的样子“道古须髯”的形象。并且用文字“老聃”的一部分，变形为人类骄傲的大拇指，分立两旁。
经过与杨世膺的交流，发现他不愧是优秀的篆刻艺术家。这件作品，他将现实生活中，人们的自大、傲娇寓意加入其中。那就是我在传统篆刻之严肃、稳定的形式下，感到的那种不实的、寒颤般的清冷。将这两种感觉放在一个作品之中，虽有厚重如火的红色从中漫开，篆刻隽永却又似如履春冰。实乃高手！
好一个“老子天下第一”，中国的道家文化深远厚重于民，这种自信与责任，从来没有丢失过。所谓“上士闻道，起而行之；中士闻道，若存若亡；下士闻道，大笑之；不笑不足于为道！”
用杨世膺的自嘲的话说，这个作品具有喜剧色彩，而在我的眼中，是一部悲剧。

虎，其实并非中国专有，虎有九个亚种。野生老虎只有4000多只左右，而美国境内家养老虎竟然有近10000只。历史上的中国使用虎骨做中药，而现在中国已经禁止使用虎骨及其制品入药。但依然有人使用虎骨入药，据说虎骨来源于人工繁育。
作为中医导引艺术治疗师，我们也会使用中草药，但我们拒绝使用老虎制品，及其他野生动物制品入药。原因很简单，自然的力量是无穷尽的。只用中草药，也能达到应有的疗效。而人类的生存与发展，意义并不在于这个肉体的强健与否，而在于你有生之年，意识发展的状态，以及作为人类来到世上能给这个世界带来的是什么。
经常看到社交网站上，有人发布在家中后院饲养虎崽、在现代化的水泥路上遛虎的视频与图像。想象一下，对于老虎这种大型野生哺乳动物来说，从个体需要的活动范围，一般在500～900平方公里，最大的可达4200平方公里，委曲求全地生活在狭小的空间里，反思人类，是老虎帮助了人类，还是人类帮助了老虎？
是时候改变这一切了。人类不需要太多的物质，也可以将一生活得很好！
艺术，可以带给人类意识的重生！

Tigers are actually not exclusive to China. There are nine subspecies of tigers. There are only about 4,000 wild tigers, while there are nearly 10,000 domestic tigers in the United States. 在艺术治疗中，我会经常使用水墨，作为测评来访者能量状态的方法。

Casey Vormer a.k.a. Remrov, is an autistic and self-taught pencil artist. who specializes in photorealistic drawings of everything he finds interesting, mainly animals.
Casey was diagnosed with classic autism when he was 21 years old. Due to his autism, he sees the whole world in tiny little details. His drawings tend to be this way too, very precise and detailed. Casey started drawing at a very young age. As soon as he was old enough to hold a pencil, he was always drawing. He noticed that whenever he was drawing, people left him alone and didn't expect him to communicate. This made him feel safe, as he had a lot of challenges with communication and social interacting.
As a youngster, Casey got through every day by literally mimicking other people in order to hide his autism related limitations and challenges. At first everything he said and did was copied, but very gradually he started to find his own words and language inside of himself, Now Casey gives presentations about autism at different venues and events, and he makes videos in which his shares his experiences. His goal is to help other people with autism and their families, and to be a voice for non-verbal autistic people.

看到如此美好的虎铅笔艺术作品，我首先把它们粘贴下来，发送到我在中国境内的孤独症孩子家长群中，一时间，孤独症家长们非常感动。他们没有想到孤独症可以画的这么好。
艺术，有很多种形式，一种是写实艺术。如果我们不说Casey Vormer a.k.a. Remrov是孤独症，大家也就只是赞叹他的作品真实度极高，技法娴熟而已。这看起来简直与他的生存状态太相像了，最开始，他只是复制他人的话与行为，只是为了掩盖他的自闭症症状。 他的艺术作品看起来也是复制的。
但，从艺术治疗的角度看，这绝对不是一副简单的写实艺术作品。从小就开始绘画的他，注意到，每当他画画的时候，人们都让他一个人呆着，没想到他会和他交流。这让他感到很安全，给了他一个足够大的内心空间，使他有机会慢慢的探索到他自己内心的世界，正像他复制他人到开始拒绝抄袭与模仿，开始寻找属于自己的表述方式。

写实主义艺术Realism，是在现代主义艺术之前的艺术形式，而正是因为有了足够的自由的空间，Casey Vormer a.k.a. Remrov的作品，看起来是画了很多动物或者人物，但将他的作品统一地、整体地来看，相当于借助了一些动物的外型，还原的是自己内心的感受。
这不就是现代主义的内核、写实主义的外壳吗？而且，他的确通过这种写实主义风格的绘画，找到了自我。

生活真美好 睡觉
这是中国著名朦胧诗人芒克的一幅水墨老虎。是不是很可爱？
“生活真美好 睡觉”，这是芒克早年的一首诗歌中的句子。与现代社会的流行语“平躺”好像，对吗？
芒克说：生活再艰苦、现实再困难都不会影响我内心的美好。
实际上，这是一种选择，这是一种非常不容易达到的境界。波涛汹涌的现实社会，有多少人能如此逍遥？八大山人？郑板桥？达利？毕加索？
中国的老虎作为生肖虎，不仅在最初的生肖选定时是一个有争议的存在，而且，整个生肖的设定，还有一个很深刻的内涵在其中，即学术的普及性。看起来，这与管理一个国家的内容设计有很大的关系。但更重要的是，为什么要学术普及？管理国家到底怎么做？老子的道德经很多人以为是为了让普通人遵循道德的。但实际上，老子的道德经，是为了国家管理者设计的。不尚贤使民不争、上善若水，等等。都是要人们做到顺其自然。是呀。什么是自然呢？看看我国古籍中记载，古代的中原地区，最初使用“干支纪年法”，即用10个天干符号，相配合来纪年。后来，又为了让贫民百姓也能记住自己出生的年号，就使用了最简单的动物纪年法，后来称其为“生肖年”。
百姓要的是什么？这不仅仅是为了填饱肚子，还要尽可能地追逐幸福和快乐。
不论外面的世界有多么喧嚣复杂，能保持一份平和的心，芒克的作品，显示出这位优秀的朦胧诗人特有的、地地道道、顺其自然的能量。

Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching is thought by many to be for ordinary people to follow morality. But in fact, Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching was designed for state administrators. Not honoring the virtuous will keep the people from contention, the highest good is like water, and so on. It's all about letting people go with the flow. Yes. What is nature? Look at the records in ancient Chinese books. In the ancient Central Plains, the "Dry and Branch Years Method" was initially used, that is, 10 symbols of the heavenly stems were used to match the year. Later, in order to allow the poor people to remember the year of their birth, the simplest animal dating method was used, which was later called "Zodiac Year".
What do the people want? It's not only about filling your stomach yet , but also chasing happiness and joy as much as you can.
No matter how noisy and complicated the outside world is, to maintain a peaceful mind, Munk's works show the unique, down-to-earth, and natural energy of this excellent hazy poet.

这是一个Ipad作品，创造者是视觉艺术家Sean Goldman。我们看到的很多著名的美国卡通公司迪斯尼的卡通艺术，都有他的杰作，他的工作就是将平面的卡通，变为立体的特效，是卡通片中的“灯光”艺术家。他的“虎”主题作品，及祝福语中，充满了光影的阴阳平衡与哲理。黑白影像，让那个虎头，变成“有火红眼睛的头部剪影”+ 虎身体的斑纹，正好形成虎的黑夜与白昼一阴一阳的意象。
没有了额头的“王”字，去掉了人类赋予的因素，黑色剪影并未减少黑夜主宰的意象，反而因为火红的眼睛再次反射出阴中之阳刚之气。从画面结构上讲：左为阴、右为阳，黑色头影有如阴刻、虎纹有如阳刻。虎为夜间活动狩猎者，阴阳图又呈现出阳生阴降，恰巧，黑色头影在左边，为阳中之阴；老虎在右，呈现阴中之阳。而阴阳图，又因为iPad的制作特点，呈现出后置的虚像。使整个图像抽象而又有深意！

This is an iPad work created by visual artist Sean Goldman. We have seen a lot of cartoon art from the famous American cartoon company Disney, many of which have his masterpieces. His job is to turn flat cartoons into three-dimensional special effects, and he is the "lighting" artist in cartoons. His "tiger" themed works and blessings are full of yin and yang balance and philosophy of light and shadow. The black-and-white image turns the tiger's head into "the silhouette of the head with red eyes" + the stripes on the tiger's body, forming the image of the tiger's night and day, yin and yang.
Without the word "king" on the forehead, the factors given by human beings have been removed. The black silhouette does not reduce the image of the master of the night, but because the fiery red eyes once again reflect the masculinity of the yin. From the perspective of the structure of the picture: the left is yin and the right is yang, the black head shadow is like a yin carving, and the tiger pattern is like a yang carving. The tiger is a nocturnal hunter, and the yin and yang diagram also show that the yang is born and the yin descends. Coincidentally, the black head shadow is on the left, which is the yin within the yang; the tiger is on the right, showing the yang within the yin. Mary K. S. Ngai (aka Maksn) received a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising Arts from the University in San Carlos in 2011, and received her Master's degree in Visual Development at the Academy of Art University in 2018.
She is a strong advocate for expression and emotional representation through illustration and stories, and is a huge fan of films by Makoto Shinkai and Mamoru Hosoda.
She is also a big videogame nerd for titles by Klei, Blizzard, Vanillaware, Atlus, and the Zero Escape series written by Kotaro Uchikoshi.
Her professional interests focus on storyboarding, graphic design, character design and illustration. With her Advertising background, she worked as a graphic designer and marketing assistant for GreatNonprofits. 2022 is the Chinese Year of the Tiger, and China is not the only country with tigers. Therefore, tigers have different cultural connotations in different countries.
